Snowy days and Promises that Await

Ironically, as I awaited the snow storm last night, I watched an episode of Everwood and it was about snow! This quote stuck out to me..and through a non-Christian show..I heard the Lord.

"No matter how old you are, it's hard not to get excited when snow starts to fall. Because, so long as it keeps coming, no one can make you go anywhere or do anything. All life's rules are suspended...The best thing about snow, other than snowballs, is that it has an equalizing effect. Snow can take any object or situation and make it pretty just the same. Couldn't care less what's underneath...It's not just that snow makes the world pretty. Snow gives us all a second chance. Snow cleanses. Hiding the sins of all with no prejudices, favor or blame. Everything gets to be pure again. If only for a little while. Which might be all you need."-Everwood

Today, as I watched the snow come down hour upon hour, I knew the sovereignty of God was at work. God started comparing the snow to His promises. I thought Lord what in the world does snow have to do with your promises? I sensed that the Lord was saying how intimately he knows my heart. Today was a unique snow. This year it has snowed over two feet total in Montreat but this snow was distinctly different. It was BEAUTIFUL. It was the perfect snow. They were HUGE powdery flakes that were so big that I could see their shape outside my window as they fell. I was reminded by my nerdy brain that no 2 snowflakes that fall to the ground are alike. Each of their molecular shapes are different. Thousands of snow flakes..and not one alike!!! God knew that this snow brought joy to my heart and allowed me to rest today from the business of my crazy life. I am convinced that if My God designs each snowflakes and knows which day to send the snow to make my day, and gives me an episode about it from my favorite show...He will not withhold the desires of my heart. He cares. He cares about the things I care about!! He has already sent and confirmed his word over my life and it will happen. It is inevitable just like this gorgeous snow!! He will see it to the end. I wanted to share his goodness with you all tonight. Know that HE CARES, he really cares. He cares about every single little nit picky thing you care about and he KNOWS. He knows you fully and He loves you!

Is. 55:10-12“ For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven,
And do not return there,
But water the earth,
And make it bring forth and bud,
That it may give seed to the sower
And bread to the eater,
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please
,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it."
