It's not easy being green-Kermit the Frog

"Going Green" is not an unfamiliar phrase to the American people. Many environmentally friendly people are hyping it up, it has almost become a trend, a group, a hobby, for some. So what's the heart of the matter? Can we make wise decisions without going overboard? There are usually two types of people in America: The overly obsessed "Greens" (as I like to call them) and the Wasters. I come from a family that probably never considered recycling unless they could sale their cans for money :), haha and I go to a College that has recycling bins around every corner. The science teachers at Montreat College have given me a new perspective. So what does the Bible say?

"Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."

So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.

God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground."
Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. 30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food." And it was so."-Genesis 1

Just like someone handing you money, God has handed us the earth to do with what we see fit..yet we treat it like it's not our problem. I'm guilty too, but I do see value in caring for every single thing God has given me. It's not a big task to recycle plastic, and to use re-usable grocery bags, the little things matter :). However, we live in a self consumed nation who makes it's hard, that Kermit knew what he was talking about!
